Cash-based physical therapy means that we are out of network with all insurance companies and do not directly bill through insurance (though you may be eligible for reimbursement directly from your insurance company). Our patients pay us directly each visit for their 1-on-1, personalized physical therapy session. This allows us to focus all of our attention on the patient and perform treatments to focus on patient goals without being dictated by insurance rules and regulations. Ask us about our package rates!
You can certainly use your out-of-network insurance benefits. You can also use your health savings account (HSA) or flex spending account (FSA). While we collect our fees directly from our clients, we provide an itemized superbill to submit to his or her insurance company. By submitting your receipt, you may be able to recover a percentage of the cost you pay upfront (typically 50-80%) from your insurance company, depending on your “out of network” coverage. Contact your insurance company to be sure of your specific policy details.

While cash is certainly an acceptable form of payment, patients are also able to pay with major credit and debit cards as well as FSA and HSA accounts. Flexible financing is also a popular form of payment through Care Credit.

Insurance companies in the United States are continually cutting reimbursement rates for rehabilitation services and dictating how clinicians treat patients. With this decline in reimbursement, many clinics are forced to treat multiple patients in the hour (this means that some therapists are seeing 4+ patients at the same time) and lower patient care standards to make ends meet. These clinics rotate patients in and use assistants and techs to complete treatments. Patients do not receive the individualized care they need and are encouraged to go through exercises with little to no supervision.

With a cash-based practice, we are able to decide how we want to treat patients as we are not regulated by the insurance companies. This allows us to provide the highest quality care for our patients, while keeping them 1- on -1 with their doctor of physical therapy for the entire hour, every visit. This increase in quality results in our patients getting better, faster than traditional insurance-based physical therapy. We typically see our patients only once per week, saving you valuable time, meaning you aren’t leaving work early, commuting to and from the clinic, and spending an hour here 2-3 times each week.

Pro Tip…Contrary to what they’d like you to believe, your insurance company isn’t REALLY about keeping you healthy.

Insurance companies are in the business of claims processing and not health care. They benefit from unhealthy populations, which drive higher premiums. High premiums drive higher-deductible plans, which reduce the payments required from the insurance company.

This goes against ALL of what we at LIBERTY PHYSICAL THERAPY stand for…and we believe YOU should too.

Cost will vary depending on a lot of factors independent of each other. New Evaluations cost $99. Plans of Care typically run anywhere between $1k-3k. (For reference, the average cost of an MRI in the US is $1,325 and that doesn’t include any treatment. This is a cost, we can frequently avoid) Payment plans available if needed. Insurance Reimbursement Possible. Flexible financing is also a popular form of payment through Care Credit.

Case-Specific Questions...

This doesn’t mean you 100% absolutely need surgery…in most cases. More and more research is showing that long-term conservative rehab has just as good of outcomes as orthopedic surgery. Watch this short 1 min video about Gary if you relate…

Just because you didn’t have your BEST results with PT already, doesn’t mean you cannot benefit from a different approach. A lot of our clients have “failed” PT in the past, but have had success with our approach. Watch this short video if you relate.

Like the PT question above, just because you haven’t had your BEST results with chiropractic already, doesn’t mean you cannot benefit from a different approach. A lot of our clients have “failed” chiropractic in the past, but have had success with our approach. Watch this short video if you can relate to Jeremy’s story.

We understand your frustration…believe us. That’s why we’re pushing against the grain and attempting to re-establish truly patient-centered care. Watch this short video about TJ if you relate.

Trouble sleeping is one of the most common issues we help clients overcome! Typically there are strategies we can adopt in the short term, but with the treatments and progressions of exercises, this will typically subside over time. Watch this short video about Shon if you relate…

We 100% can relate. Unfortunately, the reality in the health care field right now is with cutting reimbursements from insurance companies, clinics are forced to increase the quantity of patients/clients they see in a day. With this comes rushed sessions, frustrations with not feeling heard or treatment adjusted to using critical thinking. That’s why we purposely design our schedule to limit visits to 4-6 per day, vs 10+ in most clinics around here. We 100% guarantee you’ll be listened to and this is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Watch this video about Gunnar if you relate…

Though we understand where this thought process comes from, this understanding has changed drastically over the years. For most cases, MRIs and other expensive ($2000+) images are unnecessary and don’t actually guide our treatment approach in PT. Thousands of research participants over the years have demonstrated that you can have a pretty “nasty” looking image and yet be 100% painfree and 100% functional. Our job is to match your current symptom irritability to the proper level of exercise and treatment technique. This approach has been proven to be MORE EFFECTIVE that treating based on the image. Watch this short video if you relate….
